Phillip 'Daffy' DeFreitas

Phillip Defreitas, or Daffy as he is more commonly known, is widely respected as one of the finest professional cricketers to have competed in the domestic game, retiring after an astonishing twenty consecutive seasons having reached the rare double of 10,000 first class runs and 1,000 wickets.

He arguably achieved every cricketing goal possible over his career, playing for Lancashire and captaining both Leicestershire and Derbyshire. He played cricket regularly for England between 1986 and 1996 and acquired a reputation as one of England's finest all-rounders.

Phillip Defreitas is probably best remembered for his role in the winning 1986/7 Ashes series, a triumph that has only just been repeated by the England test side.

Phillip DeFreitas is now a professional Cricket Coach and is a popular choice for After Dinner SpeakingQ&A Sessions and Golf Days.
