On the recent Next Generation Cricket tour to Sri Lanka, four schools in the Grapaha district and part of the PRANAV charity, benefitted from equipment donated by Phillip DeFreitas and the boys of his touring party. Items included cricket bats, cricket pads, gloves, balls, shoes, helmets and many items of clothing.

This charity foundation focuses on supporting underprivileged children and local schools in the developing countries by providing used sports equipment.

The four schools are, WW Kannagara Central College, Basilca College Ragama, Soorijarachchi Maha Vidyalaya and Sri Rajasingha Central College. The picture below shows a portion of the kit being shown to the school children at Sri Rajasingha College during morning assembly.

The Phillip DeFreitas Next Generation Cricket Academy is committed to helping the PRANAV charity in the Grapaha district for the next four years through Dipan Suwarneraj, CEO of Lions Sports Travel.
